Breadth Studies
Structural Breadth:
The structural breadth for my thesis proposal is embedded into the analysis topic, Infinity Structural System vs. Existing Structural Masonry Block & Plank System. In order to conduct this construction depth, I will have to redesign the structural system for the PSU Abington Student Apartments in order to conduct and carry out my research plan to demonstrate the advantages of utilizing the Infinity structural system over the project’s existing structural masonry block & plank system.
Acoustics Breadth:
The acoustics breadth for my thesis proposal is part of the construction depth of comparing a precast facade brick system vs. a hand-laid brick facade system. The breadth entails comparing the STC values for each system and ensuring that if the precast facade brick system was adopted, it would still satisfy building acoustics requirements
